Rise and Shine: The alarm awakes me, signaling the commencement of another challenging day. I eagerly embrace it, slipping into a comfortable yet chic attire, gearing up for the bustling city. Battle with Traffic: The streets erupt into chaos, a symphony of honking horns and weaving vehicles. Traffic rules seems like mere suggestions as I encounter  jostling bikes, rickshaws, and cars, inching towards the lifeline of my daily commute - the metro station. Metro Chronicles: Finding solace in my book amid the crowded train, the clattering becomes a familiar rhythm. It’s my mental sanctuary, a preparation for the day's hustle. Campus Hustle: Stepping onto the tranquil college grounds is a stark contrast from the city's chaos. Yet, amidst classes and assignments, m

Dear road users, We believe that youth of today is the citizen of tomorrow. So, sowing right set of seeds today will ensure a good harvest tomorrow. Schools form an important part of the foundation of life, because we develop and absorb our basic life skills and life values during our school days. Saesha Kapur, a student of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura has reflected an intent of what our future citizens of the country think of. She reflects a mature and a responsible outlook, talking about our social responsibility at one hand, and about the difference that the millenial generation can make to the future. "Character-On-Road", an opportunity for the youngsters to think of of the box and try to develop some solutions which improve the on road conduct of our citizens to large extent.  Shreya! We wish you the best!

Women power - Can you lead "Character-On-Road"?

Image
Dear road users, Women form 50% of road users. Somewhere deep down in the human psyche, we still believe that taking driver's seat on road is a masculine job and women should not do it. But for a change, women have taken onto the roads as drivers, riders and they are driving taxis, autos, rickshaws in addition to buses. Women equality is increasing in the on-road space and by the next decade, it would be substantially higher than what it is today. A large part of this movement can be attributed to the education, which is considering equality right from the grass-root levels. But, does this finish there? Women are also the sufferers in the On-road space. If a woman overtakes a guy, she makes herself vulnerable to ogling and jibes by the other vehicle drivers. If she crosses the road, she gets vulnerable to remarks on her sense of dressing up and the colour of her dress, if she takes up a seat in the public transport, every opportunity is waited for, when the seat next to her gets va

Miles of Smiles

Image
Dear Road Users, On the roads around us, we witness high mobility, hustle-bustle, horn honking, people losing temper and yelling at each-other. Somewhere roads have become synonymous with stress, and it won't be wrong if we conclude that the time spent on the road is directly proportional to the stress that one carries. Driving in a city, during peak hours is a pain. Everyone wants to reach the office on time. Everyone seems to be looking out for the "FIRST PRIZE" in the race. Race against whom? ....nobody knows.   Today becomes an important day for us as we unleash our punchline and our vision....."Miles of Smiles".  It becomes our vision and mission, to create and spread smiles on THE ROAD. As a first step, we are looking at creating opportunities for innovating the road space, to make it better, safer and smoother  for pedestrians, drivers, passengers, rehriwallahs etc.

Character On Road - Women Special

Image
India as a country is very competitive. It is like someone is there ahead of us and we have to wait for our turn. It starts right before the birth. Finding a suitable nursing home to be borne and after death, waiting at the cremation ground for the pyre to be lit, it is all competition. We always tend to move faster and faster, move ahead, overtake others and emerge victorious (nobody knows who are we competing against).  Though being competitive is nice in the right field, however, short sighted behaviour at times becomes a pain for the others. Women become soft targets at times. "Paapa ki pari" is often ridiculed for her driving habits. Two-wheeler or four wheeler, it is taken as a fortitude of the males, but, there are women who have taken upon themselves to bear the responsibility and ownership of their movement. Cars, two-wheelers, school vans and now e-rickshaws are some of the citadels which women have broken into and we believe that equality on road will be easier a
